Sartre spelled their tactics out decades ago. He called out anti-Semites specifically, but it applies equally to other branches of fascism. The modern media needs to tack this quote to their laptops and read it at least once a day, or they'll always be ten steps behind.

Similarly, the number of news articles on the shooter who seem to blindly believe that "Hey fascist, catch!" and the Bella Ciao reference are indications of actual antifa beliefs and not of a mind consumed entirely by groyper memes.

I'm the first to admit that 25 years of being Extremely Online has fucked up a lot of things for me, including my attention span and my faith in humanity, but I don't understand why so much of the mainstream media seems incapable of understanding that fascists LIE to sow confusion and doubt.

I'm also kind of astounded that she keeps claiming that the media is misrepresenting his views by quoting his actual words. She keeps saying he's being taken out of context when the context makes his statements worse. It makes me wonder about the state of education of today's journalists.

Alternately, attacking straw men is her preferred debate style, in which case no wonder she's defending Charlie Kirk, since the man never met an argument he wouldn't misrepresent to serve his own agenda. 🙄 Maybe in pundit-land that makes you a "civil debater", I just say it makes you a liar.
