I have become swayed state/local govt handling more things as a good counter to authoritarian overreach
Issue has always been when those govts have independence to take people's rights
Equality, justice, and collective action issues = federal
Else = state

I really wish we could stay focused. All these awful things are worthy of attention, but if we focused on only one instead of anger at every tragedy and crime, we might be able to accomplish something.
