I can do FP in any language that supports functions as values, which includes all Lisp variants. But if the language does not enforce purity, discipline is required to avoid impure functions. Which is hard if the team is larger than 1 person.

Already in the 70s, Larry Constantine and others stated that functional cohesion is better than temporal cohesion with regard to avoiding defects and improve maintainability, even though they didn’t relate it to functional programming as such.

Riktig, avdrag er kun flytting av penger uten at de skifter eier. Har man 10 i lån og 30 i eiendeler, har man en nettoformue på 20. Betaler man ned 1 på lånet, har man fremdeles en nettoformue på 20.

Avdrag er åpenbart ikke med i regnestykket.
