I grew Angelique recently too. It’s interesting how different weather conditions affect the petals. I must agree, she is a diva in any weather!

🌱 #GardenSunday Here is a true garden heirloom. These bearded irises in my mother’s garden (she calls them “flags”) came from divisions in my grandmother’s garden. Mom gave me some divisions, and now they are growing in my garden. Cheers!

My olive tree has never fruited. I bought it from eBay a looong time ago and I think it may need another tree to cross pollinate.

I rescued the yucca from the trash at my job ~20 years ago. It’s nigh indestructible!

I made a peanut butter and pumpkin pie with a cranberry chutney to be served on the side. This is for tomorrow. I don’t have any room for them in the fridge, so they are chilling on my back sunporch. #SecularPieThursday

A pic of a black swallowtail caterpillar and butterfly for reference. They also like dill, fennel, and chives.
Fun fact: the caterpillar larvae evolved to resemble bird droppings to avoid being eaten!

There’s plenty left of the parsley. It will persist well into the winter, and return again in the spring. Parsley is biennial, so I’ll have parsley flowers for drying next year too. 🌱
I always plant extra because it’s a favorite host plant for the black swallowtail butterflies.

If you gave this bouquet to your sweetheart, how would they react?🌱

Mine was quite pleased. This is Italian flat leaf parsley and what’s left of the Genovese basil. All going into the dehydrator.

It’s almost time to trim the tree. Do you have your cornament?
