@pepchasdrdave.bsky.social just watched Mediawatch. I used to think Linton Besser was ruggedly handsome and credible. Now he is just ruggedly handsome. I mean, thank God we have MediaWatch to attack hard working ABC stalwarts, because God knows there is no other media constantly attacking the ABC.

The strength of the original, and the theatrical production is that the audience knows it is not real, we meet the creator and enter into a contract to suspend disbelief. If your starting point is naturalistic realism…where is our buy in? Someone smarter than me needs to explain where the magic is.
