This is also why I try to write compliments that are a bit different or point something out that may not get attention but still needs it. It feels nice when efforts or noticed in other ways than looking nice but honestly I dress for me and not to look pretty so.

Say for example, someone compliments your hair or shoes because it's their favorite color. Now you might remember their favorite color or it'll lead into a story about a friend or family member. Or if someone compliments me for being funny or how I see things, etc. It makes me feel special.

I don't know if need to explain my thoughts on it, but I only mention the compliments thing because while being told that you look nice is great and fine. I find more meaning in things that create a connection or help me see something in a different light.

And i know it sounds unconventional but

It's weird how I've gotten accustomed to coming home to nothing now.

For 3 years I had someone excited to see me and affection and within 4/5 months, I've snapped back to coming home to dark rooms and no comfort.
