One Battle feels like it captures the Pynchon thing better than Inherent Vice did, which is kind of unexpected, but like, the sadness and the esoteric crackle are much more present here. Long, but largely cause it had to be. Its a generational epic of late America after all.

I did "Vineland" when i first got audible and its a really good middleweight Pynchhon imo, some beautiful passages and unexpected emotional punch.
