68 y.o. retired graphic designer. I used Adobe Creative Suite for years, and I have no interest in digitally created or enhanced work. No AI. Here to see traditional fine art. Used my old iPhone for photos. Any other art I post is made with my hands.
I love this.

Very nice, Mike. And congratulations on starting to make art again. I earned a BFA in 1988, and I went into the field of graphic design where I spent 30 years shackled to a computer.
Retired now, and starting to make art again the old fashioned way. It's exciting and a little intimidating.

My granddaughter is 11, and she is not on social media. And she doesn't have a phone. I agree that our country is such a scary place.

I am going to revise this little 27 year old painting. Now that I am over the pain maybe I can repurpose it!

What is unfolding is unbelievable.

Yeah. The hard pencil makes sense. I used to draw and paint on drafting film (when I was in school in the late 80's)...I still have one of the paintings that I did in 1998 and I am amazed that the pencil and paint did not dry and flake off the paper. I like using that film a lot.

It's really beautiful. The talent blows me away. I look forward to seeing the finished piece.

Hope it's ok if I ask. Does the paper have enough tooth to hold onto the pastel?

Beautiful. How did you set the white charcoal to the paper. some type of spray?
