Pour tout l’amour des fleurs mortes partagé avec Marguerite Duras.

Me too, and I love the beauty of dead flowers and fading bouquets. Such elegance, and grace.

Always inspired by Duras who kept all her bouquets.

RIP Tony Harrison.
Listen to his extraordinary poem ‘v’ which scandalized 80’s Britain.

Highly relevant today.

That’s extraordinary you saw that production by Volcano Theatre @pippagoldschmidt.bsky.social . I also saw it and I loved it so much i wrote to the company and then went back and managed to see it two times more. It was one of the most startling plays I’ve ever seen.

This always make me laugh too. The purpose of all literacy! 😂😅

It's here.

BAD LANGUAGE
13/11/25

"made with love and horror, & a guidebook for our time" — @adamzmith.bsky.social
"Mayer's words & a gift and a gateway" — @elizabethlovatt.bsky.social
"incantation & spell distil a complex argument" — Lola Olufemi

Pre-order: peninsulapress.co.uk/products/bad...
Cover of Bad Language by So Mayer: hand-drawn illustration of an illuminated capital B, which is a grey dragon wrapped around a blue tree. The dragon has a red eye and smoke rising from its nostrils. The author's name and book title are written in a simple, non-joined-up cursive, as if on a chalkboard.

It is key. I had to shout loud and lengthily to bring opera singers and contemporary artists into French psychiatric hospitals rather than getting patients to do coloring-in of Disney characters.

It’s bridging that gap but not dumbing down. And yes the transgression of giving voice to the vandal. So amazing and moving. This is what we need now.

Same. Saw a play version when I was 16 and it changed me.
