🖊️ Writing is protest
As writers, we write the best version of our book we can and then we release it into the world. We don’t have control over who reads it or what people think. We don’t know how far the ripples of our work goes.

As an author (and an indie author at that), writing will always be a form of protest.

Writers: Keep writing. Keep publishing. Keep sharing your stories.

Readers: Keep reading. Keep buying physical books. Keep sharing and recommending.

Keep speaking up.

Don’t forget to buy and read historical fiction! Authors do years of research, and fiction always shares stories of truth. Stories are how we, as humans, have always learned best.
Textbooks are gonna get real weird about how they cover WWII now, huh

Today marks a turning point for our country—one that will have ripple effects across the world, reshaping modern society as we know it.

We've been seeing oligarchy replace democracy, fascism replace the constitutional republic under which our country was founded.

This might be a hot take, but as an indie author of twelve years and six books (fiction and non-fiction), I will never respond to a request for book publicity on social media accounts.

In November, I decided to rewatch The West Wing for the fifth time.

I’m just going to keep it on a constant loop now.

This jarring feeling we have at the Tik Tok ban? How it suddenly went dark and was taken away? Remember this. This is what happens when self-expression is silenced. This is what happens when rights are stripped away.

The internet could have been a modern Library of Alexandria—so much knowledge and culture and wisdom stored and shared in one place.

Maybe it is, and we’ve burned this one down, too.

I honestly don’t know how I’m going to handle another social media app.

Is it nice here, at least? Can I grab a cup of tea and talk books and the writing process and art and culture and grounded spirituality all the things that make my heart happy?

Hi! I’m an indie author who writes literary coming-of-age stories of nostalgia and the magic of everyday life. My novels span the decades in the fictional town of Montours City, and you can explore the town and get to know the residents at www.montourscity.com!
