The co-chairs of the committee told reporters after the hearing that another meeting wouldn’t be scheduled until next week. They are not hopeful for a vote by Sept. 30.

Republican Sen. Jane Timken, co-chair of the Joint Committee on Congressional Redistricting, has already indicated there will be another hearing in the future.

Ohio’s Senate Finance room is already filling up ahead of the 11 a.m. meeting of the Joint Committee on Congressional Redistricting. The hearing will include testimony on the Democrats’ proposed map “as well as any other testimony offered concerning a proposed congressional redistricting plan.”

The group is now speaking on one side of the statehouse about their demands for redistricting.
