Mike Johnson has fully lost control of the House.
Any 5 Republicans can join with Democrats to force a vote on any issue. If Rules Committer denies them a Rule for debate, they need 2/3 Majority to pass anything but they can force on the record votes at will.

Thank you for the correction.
I don’t always remember the open election states.

I think there is a use for them but it’s limited.
For example, if a foreign automaker found a way to make much cheaper cars through automation, it might make sense to protect the US car manufacturing industry for a period of time to give them time to catch up on automation.

If you actually have domestic manufacturing.
Forty years ago we could have tried to protect the shoe industry with tariffs.
But Americans preferred cheap shoes so manufacturing went overseas.
Now there is nothing to protect.

9 years ago, I too was opposed.
I’ve evolved.
And Hilary Clinton is an icon, but she isn’t leading the Democratic Party.

Me either.
The memory makes tears fall.

There are 3.8 million US Navy veterans.
Every one of them knows that firing on survivors is a war crime.
I hope they each talk to 100 voters.

Yes.
Democrats should fully embrace this in 2026.

Everyone eligible for Medicare has the right to choose from the programs available to them. Shaming ‘Boomers’ for looking out for themselves seems a strange place to make a stand. But as I said, you should make the choice best for you.

Some children need one on one aides to survive in mainstream classrooms even though their potential for learning enough to hold a job is minimal. Do we stop that because it is ‘unfair to others?’
Some people with dementia are supported by Medicaid for years. Is that ‘unfair to others?’

Some people borrow money for education and get loans forgiven.
I support that, even though it is ‘unfair’ to others.
Some people seek out extremely expensive medical care with little chance of success. Should we ration care because it is ‘unfair’ to others?

The country, as represented by the people who live in the country, has a vast amount of resources.
How we share them has a lot wrong with it - people working 40 hours and not earning a livable wage. Bulk of wealth concentrated in a minuscule number of people.
December 1, 2025 at 10:38 PM
You are stating that the value to insureds isn’t outweighed by the cost and paperwork.
That is an opinion.
If we judged every program by cost and paperwork without including offsetting benefit they would all end up in the negative.
December 1, 2025 at 10:28 PM
You are welcome to your opinion, and certainly should use traditional Medicare if that works for you.
You are welcome to lobby your Members of Congress to eliminate the program.
There are many things that benefit one group of people and cost another. For me, a Medicare Advantage plan is best.

I think he is incapable of mustering the stamina for the rallies and his handlers are too afraid of what he will say to let him loose.
Look at the lack of control he has in the Oval Office and Air Force One.
