Back in home state of TN after far better life in NorCal. Know why parents moved out west when I was 17. It is far safer in California than here. We never feel safe. Hoping to escape this nightmare of a state ASAP.

Yes but go one hour east, it is Trumpland even before Trump. Makes me wish I'd never returned from out west several years ago.

We helped a couple of them since early 2000s. When we were literally deathly ill with COVID, they'd harass us at all hours day and night. So, while we grow food, have a small agricultural business, I swore I will never help them again.

I'm beginning to think we can't teach it to some. My brother is one example and it's only gotten worse since 2016. It's why I think the real tragedy is not political sides rather MAGA is a way to normalize the lack of empathy and other values some of us try to live by and believe in our hearts
