Despite warnings from the law enforcement not to attend today’s No Kings rally after this mornings shooting of Minnesota lawmakers with the killer on the lose, the No Kings Rally is happening at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.

People are so into this they're doing a reverse march back to where they parked. I estimate this crowd at a lot of people.

The news isn’t being clear about this but to people hearing about these Minnesota shootings: Melissa Hortman is the Dem leader in the Minnesota House and was Speaker of the House 2019-2025. She’s probably the most influential state-level Democrat barring the governor.

If you were planning to attend the No Kings rally in NE Minneapolis, it is canceled due to the manhunt for the terrorist who has shot two DFL lawmakers in the northern suburbs. Be safe, all. ❤️

These are not detainments—they are kidnappings.

These are not deportations—they are human trafficking.

These are not detention centers—they are concentration camps.

Language matters.

This is fascism.

The aforementioned episode…
The case of a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported to a brutal prison in El Salvador is a test for the limits of presidential power — and the rule of law.

Listen to "The Daily."

When listening to The Daily validates my sanity, it can only mean that things are really fucking bad. Call your reps, y’all. Get loud. Shit. Is. Dire.

At my big age, it’s pretty embarrassing to admit that I only just realized that not everyone ultimately wants the best for their fellow citizens. It turns out that A LOT of people actively wish harm on others. They’re genuinely not looking for equality. They want someone to step on.

Target, in a way, is manifesting the same problem as the Democrats -- giving away parts of what people liked about them or wanted from them in order to appease an audience that doesn't like them at all or doesn't want them ever, no matter how low they sink, no matter how noisily they obey.
You would think that Target would have a new consumer base full of people that were protesting rainbow displays… but alas
Please keep boycotting Target if you can!

I can definitely think of a different way I’d define this “syndrome”. And I still wouldn’t bother to legislate it. This is such bizarre behavior. What clowns.
Five Minnesota Senate Republicans are seeking to dub “Trump derangement syndrome," a term coined to describe a form of criticism of President Donald Trump, as an official mental illness recognized under state statute.
GOP Minnesota Senators introduce bill that defines ‘Trump derangement syndrome’ as mental illness
The invented term is en vogue again after making the rounds during Trump’s first term.

The deal is I punch you in the face

How about I give you $50 instead

Nope, I want to punch you

I’ll buy you dinner but no violence

Sorry, I really like to punch

Ok, what if you slap me medium-hard

It’s a punch in the face or nothing

Ok fine, punch me. I can’t be blamed for obstructing a deal

Reminder that Republicans control the White House, the Senate, AND the House.

If the government shuts down, it’s on them.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

They can do that in their official capacity. We can be noisy about all things LGBTQ in our unofficial capacity. I have faith in New York, where graffiti became glorious and spray-can Michelangelos abound. If I were in the Village, I'd ask every home and business to put a Q and a T in the window.
