Today we're excited to launch Kino, a filmmaking app for beginners and experts alike. Now everyone can capture movies with cinematic color, contrast, and motion without going to film school.

Ok, this is incredible. For anyone familiar with BART in the Bay Area, someone (sneakily) stuck a GoPro to the front of one, filmed an entire journey end-to-end, and then made a documentary out of it (overlaying fascinating audio). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-Jrp6it9Ss

Kind of disappointed people aren’t doing the “ absolutely riveting takedown of Bluesky’s lack of support for the iOS picture-in-picture API” or whatever on Mastodon anymore

I feel like I’m missing something big not being on the ground floor at a generative AI/LLM/GPT. Anyone else feel the same way? Anyone else have the same FUD?

Twitter got me my first job: I bugged the CEO on Twitter for a gig until they finally interviewed me.
Later the company, Posterous, got acquired by Twitter and I worked there for 5 years. I wouldn't be in San Francisco or who I am, in both interests and profession, without the platform.
Having spent 7 of my professional years at Twitter it feels like losing a piece of my soul. It was a uniquely fun and empathetic place to work and a weird triumph of a product. Being a part of and watching what's happened is just so very sad.
might sound silly, but I get genuinely sad and angry about twitter dying sometimes. like, damn, that was the platform that got me my first job that let me move out of rural Oklahoma. I spent a lot of time building my platform on there. very unfortunate
