Last week of school. Here's my student's sunset project, a cinnabar moth, and a natural dyeing project with my Girl Scout troop.
Collage of the sun setting on three positions over the ocean over the course of the school year. Blueberries in a pot for a natural dye project Dyes from various plants. Yellow - Scotch broom. Purple - red cabbage. Pink - red cabbage plus vinegar. Green - red cabbage plus soda ash. Yellow- green - red cabbage with too much soda ash (no one liked that one). We also used beets, blueberries and carrots. Cinnabar moth, a black moth with red stripes and red dots on its wings, introduced to control tansy ragwort.
