Yes according to Jenrick's logic. Living in London my neighbours include people from Brazil, Scotland, Spain and Nigeria so more of a very pretty patchwork quilt.

Has anyone told the Tories that young people can't afford to buy their own homes? Abolishing stamp duty will just benefit the wealthy and private landlords. #wato
suzannebrown.bsky.social
I assume all these Tories desperately concerned about integration will be moving to areas like Handsworth to help improve matters. #newsnight
suzannebrown.bsky.social
Husband thinks Jenrick's comments on Handsworth are his subtle attempt at a leadership bid. Badenoch can't make those comments with the same level of venom for obvious reasons. The racist Tory members will love it. #politicslive

Why is more police time given to more expensive stolen bikes? #r4today
suzannebrown.bsky.social
If people can't be sent back to their country of origin wouldn't that suggest it would be unsafe to do so and therefore they should be granted asylum Badenoch? #r4today

If you want the govt to allow you - or anyone else you know who is vulnerable - a Covid jab, you can sign this petition.

The MILLIONS of people who were denied vaccines are suddenly realising.

@rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social this was a terrible idea.

Not only will the NHS struggle this autumn / winter, but people will suffer and die unnecessarily.

It isn't too late for a U-turn!

Q

Pharmacy teams have reported major issues to us over the last two days related to large numbers of patients booking COVID-19 vaccinations via the National Booking System (NBS) who are not eligible for the vaccine this winter.

We are working with NHS England to try to address this unacceptable situation and to get more NHS communications issued to help people understand whether they are eligible for the vaccine.

In the meantime, we have created three posters that pharmacy teams can use to help explain about vaccine eligibility this winter:

That professor on #r4today at Pennsylvania University recommends the UK to "deregulate" to improve productivity. What he means is stripping workers' rights and reducing pay.

All while he's no doubt in a well paid, permanent post.

Bugger off mate.

By his own logic Jenrick would have to say areas where he doesn't see a black or brown face are not integrated. What does he propose to do to change that? #r4today

It's so easy to check whether they're lying, but #t4today doesn't bother.

Mel Stride claims people get PIP forever to pay for a grab rail over a bath. Pretty sure they just get the rail fitted by their local council. Nothing to do with PIP. Tory nonsense as usual. #r4today

Indeed. My son was one of the first to benefit from the Child Trust Fund. I think he ended up with about double this - with family input - when he cashed in aged 18. Useful for paying private rent at university. #r4today
suzannebrown.bsky.social
If they're lucky it should cover 2 months' rent in the private sector. Not much use for buying a home. #outoftouchtories #r4today

Reform UK surprised that local authorities can't be cut when they've already been cut by 50% in the last 14 years. What silly sausages they are. #r4today
suzannebrown.bsky.social
Exactly. Suddenly in Sept 20 it was all back to school. This was before any vaccines and during a 2nd wave. Families with health vulnerabilities were fined and in some cases urged to leave schools if they didn't attend. No alternatives provided apart from organising their own home schooling.

It's worth listening to Lara Wong's evidence (2nd session on 1 Oct). She talks about the impossible situation vulnerable families were put in when schools were reopened to all with no provision made for the vulnerable. She suggests an online school. Not ideal but better than nothing. #r4today
suzannebrown.bsky.social
Well some children did die and some took Covid home from school and infected their vulnerable family members who then died as Lara Wong from Clinically Vulnerable Families pointed out in her evidence to the Inquiry. I suspect we're not going to hear much about that on #r4today

Whatever children lost during lockdowns, they didn't lose their lives.

Thousands more people would have died if schools had been kept open. Children would have lost their parents, grand parents.

It's in children's best interest to be alive! FFS.

It's a shame a politician can't answer that question with the retort "why should it just be the MP for Herefordshire that gets easy access to crack cocaine and not their constituents?". #wato

'Grown ups' on the new Pulp album is great. Treat yourself to a listen when the next Taylor Swift item is on. #r4today
(I actually don't mind Taylor Swift!)

It was interesting in that neither of the guests seemed ready to address the paedophilia in the CofE if nothing else. Apparently the Archbishop just needs to pray a lot. #r4today

Anna Foster sounds a bit silly arguing with the Home Secretary about when the killer came to the UK. Who's more likely to know? #r4today
