If you are a fan of the game, it's hard to be mad at losing that game to that pitching. Just, wow. Hats off to Gaus for holding it down for so long, but Yamamoto... Elite. Weirdly feel kind of honored? #bluejays

If there is one thing I think we can all agree on, and that recent event has taught us, it's that civics should take up a much larger portion of the Canadian early education curriculum than it currently does. #cdnpoli

I remember talking to my brother in Dec saying that the inevitable in all this is that we will eventually see a (long overdue) division of the right, between two differing views of nationalism. Ford vs. federal cons seem to be living it out now.
I'd wager that the #1 person giving Pierre Poilievre anxiety today is not Mark Carney -- it's Doug Ford.

Buddy sent a photo from Gravenhurst. These snow banks are wild! #onstorm

Had to call in help to clear the snow off the roof. We were getting some bad ice dams. Think it's time to invest in a metal roof next year. New home ownership has officially passed the honeymoon stage and we are into the expensive stage... #onstorm

The guys insisted on ice fishing today, #onstorm be damned. May they be rewarded for their efforts with a musky.

Heavy and consistent snow here on Stoco Lake for hours now. Winds are starting to really pick up.

Just starting snowing in Tweed. There has been a real feelings of 'batten down the hatches' concerning the next 5 days. Neighbours calling making sure people are set. Listening to my WASPy nature by baking bread round the clock to deliver. Missed this version of Canadian winter #onstorm

Took advantage of the last few weeks of snowfall accumulation and got out on the lake for a 6km snowshoe yesterday. Really loving the amount of rinks and shacks people have put up. Nice to have a winter to take advantage of for the first time in a few years. #onwx

Alerts are in. Sat/Sun system this past weekend was a bust here in Hastings, but this one seems like we are in the cross hairs. #onstorm

Canada is a country worth fighting for against anyone who’d roll up and sock us in the kisser, goddamn them.

I will still stand up for my country and our right to decide for ourselves how we want to live.

Confessions of a Reluctant Nationalist
I'd throw a punch to fight for Canada's sovereignty while reserving and exercising my right to criticize this country. That's a fine form of patriotism.

Sourdough starter day 10. My naming may have been preemptive. This little dough ball hasn't done shit in days. Hoping to just keep on and something magical will happen.

The great sourdough starter naming convention of 2025 has drawn to a close, and we have a winner.

But a quick moment for some of our runner ups: Sergei Breaderov, Atilla the Bun, Rolls Royce, Tie Doghmi.

What should we make for Christmas dinner this year? Don't feel like making a Turkey so need some ideas. We're 4 adults and planning a fondue for Christmas eve, but open to all other suggestions for the big day! Not afraid of a challenge. What are your traditions?

Pretty calm here in Tweed. Minimal snow, but winds are picking up. Gonna try and get the dogs out before it gets too bad. #onstorm

Hey #Ontario folks! Looking for the best bookstore recommendations in Hastings or Prince Edward Count. I always treat myself to 5 new books over the holidays, and I'm new to the area so looking for local small businesses to check out! #hastingscounty #pec

Very happy and relieved to delete the bird app, but on big #onstorm #onwx days I'm deeply missing the info sharing. It was the only reason I was hanging on, which wasn't reason enough. Hoping this platform keeps building and that community also migrates this way!
