Probably more of an essay than a tweet here, but surely one factor in the St. Luigi of Mangione discourse is that people have learned there are no real consequences for saying or doing "extreme" things.* Every Jan. 6 rioter's getting pardoned next month!

Can’t get past the NYPD and Eric Adams putting on a ridiculous show of force to transport Luigi Mangione and make the ruling class feel better. And across town they’re using force to attack a strike and make the ruling class feel better. Rarely is the purpose of cops so obvious.

This is some bullshit. Luigi Mangione made no public statements, and the "civilian population" was *far* from "intimidated" by his actions.

The Manhattan DA's office is overcharging to make a point. One might even say to "intimidate or coerce a civilian population."

Why did their state pick United Health to cover their Medicaid plan?

While Universal care sounds good. The reality is that our gov approve the Medicare Advantage plans offered by the BUCAs.

Maybe we need to change what we expect and what we need from gov chosen plans first ?

Imagine needing YOUR MOM go on TV and say you're a good boy (after she blasted you via email), and then promising NOT to drink on the job, being forced out of a veterans group for misconduct and STILL being considered for a job you're not qualified for.

THAT is serious White privilege.
