what also gets me is just how many of the shows - not even landfill isekai/narou ones - just look kinda bad? maybe it's a fluke or confirmation bias, but it seems to me like more of what I've checked out than usual are pretty limited productions/artistically basic right from the outset

Wandance

A show about dancing where the dancing is (bad) CG 🫠

Beyond that I also found it didn't land. The confrontation scene in particular focusing more on "trying to be cool is pointless" over "holy shit you're a piece of shit fuck you" was especially unconvincing

Disappointing

Wandance #01: Kabo encountering Wanda outside the school, in front of large reflective windows, as she puts some music on on her phone ready to start dancing

Ninja vs. Gokudo

More bad anime. Just an OTT action show that is barely animated and not particularly well-drawn. Sometimes seemingly has a stylistic touch not unlike Fukomoto works, and occasionally manages to be amusingly OTT, but mostly bad.

I did appreciate the Fresh Precure! references though

Oh hey, a cgdct show (kinda) and it's passably amusing!

It still, like so much else this season, looks like a pretty basic production, but given the general quality of this season I'll gladly take an enjoyable workplace comedy like that

These kinda of things generally aren't that simple unfortunately, and having a half-in-half-out approach can lead to lots of bodges and problems maintaining both

Anyway, I agree it should change, I understand they do too but haven't thought of a solution they like and don't consider it a priority
