Lastly, in the new year, I want to make more art that's about self-pleasure in a really nakedly obvious way, not just hinting at it but depicting it. I know it's kind of a simple thing, but it's still really powerful to give yourself the permission to experience pleasure in front of others.

I drew this pretty early on when I felt like the ends of my life weren't quite meeting up, and the image of a hungry and unsatisfied ouroboros trying to travel through a chaotic world has stuck with me all fucking year. I want to see more of this guy, I think it has something to teach me.

I'm not in the habit of making political cartoons but this one just came out of me after the Elon thing and many, many years of internet edgelords running cover for actually dangerous ideas because they think it's funny when people are genuinely scared. A case where a drawing can say it all imho.

I've been taking a lot of photos this year, and in my drawings I've wanted to pursue a bit of "photographic truth" to give them a sense of a lived-in and cluttered alternate reality, one that's a bit more magical and gentle than our own. I get to live in these worlds while I work on them. It's nice.
