That's not a controversial thought, really.

It's a fundamental truth

Both statements are true

And just like that, before day had even broken, my day was made.

For the love of all that is good and just and right in the Universe...

Nooooo....
December 26, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Absolutely. I do the same. It's my guilt-free pleasure.

As a people, we live for this.

This is approaching hockey-levels of devotion up here

I can't wait to see what Canadian product gets a new tariff. You know, for "National Security".

We found it at Costco. Now my wife wants KD far more than she used to.

Fight you? No, I'll back you up.

About the band. I've never been to the place.

The only bass line I ever learned when I tried to learn an instrument was "Carry On Wayward Son".

But mostly the House Hippopottoman.

I mean, yeah. World Peace. Sure.

But....Hippopottoman.

HIPPOPOTTOMAN!

Yeah, ewww.

How can I put this politely?

You're a monster

It's so very easy to be willfully ignorant when he's allowing them to wallow in their bigotry.

He allows them let it all out into the open where they can embrace their more base tendencies and wear them like a cloak.

That validation was more important to them than looking after their neighbours.

It is inconceivable (sorry, I had to) the astronomical amount of good memories I have associated with The Princess Bride.

Thank you Mr. Reiner. You were one of the good ones.

We shall not see his like again.

Yes. This is exactly where I am, and you have articulated it.

Both men made us laugh, think and feel. They showed us how to have empathy while still laughing at the most ridiculous parts of ourselves.

They showed us that laughter cures a great many ills.

They will be cherished and missed.

Fool's Overture is easily my favourite song of all time.

It's amusing to note that I came to this song through W5 when I was 7 years old.

That's a very easy conclusion to come to.

Not because it's wrong or misinformed or "fashionable".

Because it's correct.

Book a trip to Montreal and visit Gibby's in the Old Port. Their Beef Wellington is a semi religious experience. The rest of the menu, and the setting, are equally fantastic.

Those of us of a certain age will remember Duran Duran's "comeback", the Wedding Album. It came out in 1993.

Comeback.

Like, "Been there, done it, faded, remember us?"

I wasn't even a huge fan of theirs, but that hits hard.

I feel this so hard.

I'm a maker of things. Carpenter, contractor, cook (of very limited amateur skill), builder. The look on someone's face when I create something just for them is valuable to me beyond the dreams of avarice.

Use your gifts for someone else. It's worth it, tenfold.
