It wasn’t self-centered on its own, but it stacked with Sole Survivor for a ridiculously fast gate open. People would often run both, wait by a door for the killer to close hatch, and there wasn’t much a killer could do.
But this is a problem with SS and not Wake Up, so I agree the nerf is too much
