It's more that in US to compete with Dems or Republicans, you need billions of dollars where as in SA, one obviously needs money to market a new party, but not nearly the same amount as in the US. One doesn't see many new political parties emerging in US that make an impact at the polls. EFF/MK did

Point #4 is false. We've had many parties coming up that are funded by the same people who fund the big parties too
