Democrats are saying no votes unless the bill includes safeguards against Musk’s illegal & unconstitutional behavior. Republicans are rejecting that, but we need Democrats to hold the line. Make sure they hear from you.

This is not a U.S. Marshal, Federal Protective Service, or any other federal law enforcement officer. This is a private security guard from Triple Canopy. He has no authority to block members of Congress who have oversight of the EPA from entering the building.
We were just denied entrance into the EPA after asking to meet with a DOGE representative. More to come.

Elon Musk is acting with no oversight, and no transparency as to what he intends to do with millions of Americans' personal and sensitive information. There is no justifiable reason for this overreach.

I will fight with all available avenues to stop this madness.
“I can confirm he’s a special government employee,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt replied. “I can also confirm that he has abided by all applicable federal laws. As for his security clearance, I’m not sure, but I can check back with you.”

Does Elon Musk Even Have Security Clearance to Access Sensitive Data?
Elon Musk is rooting around highly sensitive data, and he might not even have been properly vetted.

If your Senator is participating in this action, give them some love. Let them know you appreciate them escalating this fight. And then tomorrow ask them what comes next.
Senate Democrats said they’ll hold the Senate floor all night in an attempt to delay a confirmation vote for Russell Vought, Trump’s pick to lead the Office of Management and Budget and a Project 2025 author.

I spoke for an hour about what they are doing, and how these disparate, destructive acts all fit together.

If you don’t stand up for rule of law, nothing else matters. It’s the mechanism of accountability in democracies. If Trump can do anything he wants with shutting down agencies, it’s naive to imagine he will follow the rules in elections and beyond. Preserving rule of law is existential to democracy.

If you're more upset with Biden being forced to consider the extraordinary step of peremptorily pardoning his own officials then you are about Trump appointing someone who’s promised to use the federal govt to exact personal retribution for Trump, then you need to think a little more critically.
