Retired software engineer and architect, but still working (if I can’t avoid it); author; husband; dad to three; Chief of Staff to two Maine Coons
Sounds like he flunked history. Didn’t get many of the other facts right, either.

What law? Standing on a sidewalk is not obstruction a roadway.

What a petty little loser.

Guess it closed in 2020. The only store left there is Nordstrom.

Trump objects to Iran shooting protesters in Iran, but is perfectly OK with ICE/CBP shooting protestors here.

I call bullshit.

Nothings wrong with it. I was saying that particular sentence sounds more like Europe.
January 2, 2026 at 1:28 AM
No. The countries in Europe sound more like the liberalism and feminism under a government-managed market that the post says works.

“Single payer” is not a slogan, but describes a whole class of solutions that differ in the details but boils down to the us paying the bulk of the cost for healthcare via the government. It might include private insurance, or it might not. Both already exist.

I hear you, but the fragmentation allows me to do other things. For a real conversation, nothing beats face-to-face.

Thanks for the comment about the cat; she really is beautiful, a bad attitude and big appetite wrapped in a beautiful fur coat.

I don’t have the inclination for conversations on apps. I don’t use WhatsApp or other messaging apps, just Bluesky and Substack.

It’s a single payer system with co-pays. Perfectly good solution, which is why the Republicans will never support it.

They always think they own us.

Bummer. Perfect remedy for loneliness.

Sometimes?
December 31, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Interestingly, no. Neither likes to be held, but they love sitting on our laps. They don’t necessarily fight being picked up, but they let you know they’re displeased. Every other cat I’ve ever had loved to be held.

Beautiful.

She’s about to run off. They do poke at each other a lot, but mostly they sleep.
December 31, 2025 at 6:45 PM
The cat on the right is actually more deferential. She’s the younger and (slightly) smaller one, and the other one is a bully, especially when her nap is interrupted.
December 31, 2025 at 6:40 PM
Brown. She’s on the left. The other one is mostly Maine Coon in behavior, but looks like she’s made out of spare parts. Here, they’re doing their usual arguing over something.

…wants a snack…or a walk.

They never have.
