What in the world? How many felons is the Trump Bureau of Prisons silently letting out? Which also lets them hide from service of legal process. Is it only the ones with connections to Russian intelligence, or does it go beyond that?

FYI to whichever of you is speaking at 20 min, the c in soupçon has a cidille on it (the hook on the bottom) which means it is pronounced as an s and not a k. Webster's agrees and can even play audio www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/s...

I'm rehabilitating my roses now. They were assaulted by the raspberries I planted without realizing how they proliferate #bloomscrolling

My economic understanding at this time (much from Sarah Taber) was that bird flu caused production shortages that a consolidated industry used to hike noncontracted/spot egg prices a lot and made a windfall. Retail stores reacted a variety of ways. Some hiked little but ran out and some hiked a lot

Counted, and I have photos on 10 days of our usual grocery with empty shelves like this. We could run around and find them somewhere marked up a lot if we really needed them, but mostly we cut back bsky.app/profile/swif...

So USDA has a plot that looks like a drop from +5% demand to -15% happened over March. I'm not actually sure what this demand number means compared to raw quantities

Clip where @tarapalmeri.bsky.social explains how Ghislaine Maxwell was a mastermind of the Epstein sexual exploitation scheme that has embroiled Trump in scandal. Trump's attorneys met with Ghislaine and may offer a pardon if she will cover for Trump and attack his enemies bsky.app/profile/swif...

There is a lot of missing the point and talking past each other on Bluesky. But there does seem to be one influential actor with questionable motives - our friends at NYT. The endorsement shenanigans and bad coverage expose them as highly political actors. Dems need to stop getting played

Texas Rs deliberately targeted districts with white Ds and left minority Ds alone in the mid-decade TX gerrymander. Presumably this was to pass muster with courts, especially pre-Shelby. It has the effect of heightening racial party polarization. Now after more Roberts damage, Rs may go for broke

Trump, Republicans, and Roberts did not prioritize legitimacy when Trump reshaped the court in his first administration

This book looks interesting, and I will check it out. I don't think of this title as a common English phrase, but maybe it is? It's very evocative, and a direct translation of 同床异梦, which is how I know it. Summaries say it's established in Korean too

There may be even more to it than upsetting the left. Consider last year's NYT Independence Day front page about the US in crisis and all about Biden's debate and this years about how much Trump is accomplishing. Wild stuff

Here is the paper - the most prominent story on the Fourth of July is an opinion about the US in crisis. It blames the President presiding over an economic boom and recovery of American leadership, NOT the criminal candidate threatening to upend its system and bring back chaos

This is last year's front page. About the US in crisis!

David points out the NYT is terrible on Independence Day again. Last year the print edition I got featured an article about the US in crisis with Biden in office x.com/swiffydk/sta...

This is what containers in the US stockpile of depleted UF6 look like. 686k tons in storage in 2005, just outside in secure facilities. Some was released into the atmosphere in accidents. Will they rupture in fire? Just seems like beefed up containers in a mountain could withstand a lot
