And remember: although it might feel like it, none of this is unprecedented. There has always been horror around the globe, but so has resistance. Choose to find hope in the example of those who are resisting, always, in every part of this world. And look for the helpers - you'll always find them.

We need you not to break, so please start being more intentional about what you fill your plates with. Exercise more often. Read good books. Organize. There is ALWAYS going to be a way out – and we need to be healthy and strong to see (and build) it.

So stop being defensive. There is NOTHING to defend in the US, and if you truly are a politically aware and socially conscious person you should be able to acknowledge that without immediately being in the position of "oh but not me 😭", grow the fuck up.

- I say Angela Davis because she is the biggest intellectual in my life, but. Ask a bunch of them. This is exactly what the US is made of and has been doing to A LOT of nations around the world. I have a deep hatred for that place purely because I was born in Brasil, and I am not alone.
