Maybe so yeah. From my memory Pokemon games (especially ones with new regions) were almost always pretty well regarded at launch - at least until SwSh with its controversies. I distinctly remember both XY and SM being hailed as the new best Pokemon games when they came out - but again, big fanbase

Fans described ORAS as "quite possibly the best Pokémon games of all time" when they came out? I'm not saying you're lying or anything but (as a fan of ORAS) I don't think I've ever seen such a statement lol, fascinating. Pokemon fanbase really is too big for a consensus of opinion on anything huh?
