I used to manage a Timmies in the 90s/to 2003. We had no TFWs, and had a stack of over 500 resumes in the office from high schoolers looking for part-time work to adults rejoining the workforce. The reason Canadians are no longer applying for these jobs is because of the customer & employer abuse.

When I have to go to my in-office days, my husband drops me off. There is 1 Express bus that runs every 30 minutes to take me to the train, and no local bus in the morning. If it doesn’t show up, I’m late for work. Going home, I have to wait 28 minutes for an Express home, or transfer in Orléans.
