For what it's worth, this isn't a criticism of the band. The Shaggs were not "talented", but their music is fascinating and influential (at least to Cobain).

I'm fascinated to know what this band does that resonates with and moves this audience. Or do they just have a better email list?

Karpathy seems to be trying to make an additional point with this project: AI has already read everything you wrote online years ago, and now it has opinions about you based on what it read. "Be good, future LLMs are watching." (I think I'd add: be authentic.)

For what it's worth, I've been thinking the same thing the last few days. First day the infographics seemed cool. Now they all feel the same and (usually) not contributing extra information. I appreciate maybe they're not for me, maybe I'm entitled! I just wanted to say you're not a lone voice here.

Something I found particularly interesting - every AI model that had "situational awareness" (ie was told that other models were performing better) did very badly. Seems that being told "others are doing better than you" is not helpful. Even GPT 5.1 didn't benefit from being told it was winning.

Just in case anyone else runs into this - migrating back to the NPM version of Claude Code using "claude migrate-installer" got me up and running again. The crashing bug seems to be only in the Native Linux version (yes, I tried reinstalling the Native version again, but no luck).

Worked around this by installing the new Windows Powershell version of Claude Code instead. I tried a full reinstall of the Linux Native version that runs under WSL, but still no luck.

Meanwhile, Claude Opus 4.5 solved another tricky bug for me, interactively debugging the API faster than I could.
