I cant wait to see the 6090 and 10090xt because they might be using a 3nm process node instead of 5nm. 4090-> 5090 (20% raster) isnt that big of a jump because there was no process node improvements and this would be a ~70% logic density improvement.

I don't get how the Liberals won in Canada since they elected a journalist to be the Minister of Finance and the economy has been in the gutter for the last 10 years.

Canadas tax system is entirely broken for businesses. In Canada if a business buys an asset they need for their business they cant deduct 100% of it in the year. So this results in less money going to workers and businesses using 50 year old machinery. Also just more complicated to keep track of.

Capital gains tax is crazy here in Canada and makes it so there is 0 point of investing into Canada. Canadas capital gains is 4x higher than China and it only makes up 7% of government revenue.

Banning Tiktok is a really bad idea they could just restrict the permissions they get on peoples devices. The ban on Huawei made sense because its to prevent ISPs from using their equipment which likely has backdoors in it and government phones etc would use those towers.

The new NVIDIA gpus are such a bummer and I hate how the advertised performance is based on the AI upscaling and not actual compute. 3 frames for every one frame are generated by AI to get the numbers used in the CES keynote by the looks of it. Can't wait to see how distorted it is lol

Stripe fraud radar just stopped some fraudster. It does have a slight extra fee to turn this on but forcing 3d secure when possible and the rules I have would stop 99% of fraudulent transactions. I just put an extra rule on to block vpn ips and throw away email services too

I just setup two replicated powerdns instances specifically for reverse DNS. This will allow customers to set theirs and have less limitations than the free cloudflare DNS zones I was using. Next thing on my bucket list is ordering additional IPS automatically.

Whats the point of a #PDS if it isnt completely federated like #mastodon? On this if you have a PDS you are still accessing bluesky directly from your client. But on mastodon the instance accesses and caches data from other instances and you only communicate with your instance.

My university is such a joke honestly. The over 1 year of non computer science electives requirement and the game design classes are just theory (they don't teach a game engine or anything). Its so bad one of my professors said at his other job they don't hire students from here anymore.
