One last thought, especially for younger artists: it's great if you want to interact more with older peers, but understand that they might never want to be friends with you not out of malice, but because you two are in wildly separate age groups and at different stages at life.

🙏Speaking of genuine connections, please be normal.

Treat other people like actual humans and not just a number, and don't expect a friendship just because of frequent interactions. Some of us just don't have the spoons for more connections.

🤝If it's for community: Engage genuinely with others in the space you want to create in and post what you enjoy, not what you think will do well.

You're far more likely to make genuine connections that way, and while larger fandoms can translate to numbers, it can't be your focus.

Seriously, you can have the most amazing art and have shit metrics bc you're bad at marketing, not bad as an artist.

Ask yourself what makes YOU personally RT posts, what catches your eye, etc. Not all art you create is easily viewed on all sites or even all devices.
