U.S.-backed Israeli forces have illegally attacked an unarmed relief convoy in international waters bound for the besieged Gaza Strip. They have kidnapped a number of passengers & crewmembers, including parliamentarians, attorneys, human rights activists, medical workers, and a Nobel Peace Laureate.

As a result of the government shutdown, the NIH, CDC, the EPA, the FDA and the National Park Service will essentially have to cease their work or have extremely limited operations because they are considered "non-essential."
ICE, however, will continue to operate since it is considered "essential."

The film Northwestern students are required to watch in order to enroll shows a map of Israel which includes occupied territories illegally annexed by the Israeli government.
