Just want conversations that don't devolve into insults and slurs.

Oh and I automatically follow Tim's. Not in a weird stalker way of course.
Now let's thrash Burnley!

I suspect the Man City and Real Madrid interest made Guehi's agents' eyes light up.

I find this site very good for explaining the ins and outs of transfer decisions and fairly realistic with transfer rumours.

I've just read that apparently we were in for Guehi but his wage demands had doubled since our offer in the summer and we weren't willing to break the wage structure.
And there are no plans for anyone else currently...:/

Imagine if Vin Dijk gets injured?
January 16, 2026 at 5:17 PM
His job is to coach the team he's given.

Speaking about disagreements in upper management with the press would be stackable in most jobs.

For all we know they've got someone else lined up.
January 16, 2026 at 5:13 PM
It's Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes who are in charge of transfers.
Klopp when he left had way more say in the transfers.

Arne Slot is most likely begging them but perhaps they're not willing to spend right now because they may have plans for a new coach in the summer?
January 16, 2026 at 4:51 PM
Yeah the Palace boss blocked it.

But Arne Slot doesn't make transfer decisions. He's just a Head Coach.

It'd be better if this woman didn't feel the need to huff helium before she speaks.

I really want to play poker with this man.

"I'm not going to tell you my cards. I have a straight but I can't say that".
January 16, 2026 at 3:39 PM
He doesn't buy the players.

Star Trek has always been at the forefront of a multicultural modern society.

It's a very very strange target to pick as 'woke'.
January 16, 2026 at 2:36 PM
No problems!...i love extra little snippets of info... especially about films.

Also I have to follow you as you're a Tim. I have rules.
January 16, 2026 at 12:46 AM
Yeah I was paying tribute to Sam Raimi's classic move and the star that does it best. I always see his face when I think of the zoom up.
January 16, 2026 at 12:43 AM
Nobody takes a zoom in to the face as well as Bruce Campbell.
January 16, 2026 at 12:39 AM
Loved this film the first time I saw it. Told everyone to watch it.

Watched a second time recently and it didn't have the same impact and I was somewhat bored so not sure it lives up to repeated viewings?

I'll probably judge that the third time I watch it...

I very much hope that Reform does not get in at all.

I remember the terrible Thatcher years, I thought they were the worst we can be.
I have never seen a party with the intentions of Reform this close to power. This is not hyperbole.

I hope it isn't Reform Vs Labour / Lib Dems / Greens.
January 15, 2026 at 11:57 PM
Nice.

That very much helps me with my fears of the Reform Party.
January 15, 2026 at 10:35 PM
Ah sh*t. I can see how that could cause offense. Didn't really put enough thought into the wording at the time and never returned to it. Not had people scan my profile for offense yet!

Just point it out to me and I'll correct it.
Wish you'd refrained from all the name calling and stuff though.
January 15, 2026 at 10:05 PM
I think AIPAC just ends you if you oppose those policies as a us candidate.
January 15, 2026 at 9:57 PM
I don't understand this one because there are two candidates.

Didn't they both do that?
January 15, 2026 at 9:53 PM
I'm just worried that what I'm seeing over there is coming over here and very very fast.
January 15, 2026 at 9:50 PM
I was just giving an extreme example of what can happen when people hesitate to vote.
Agreed it's not the same due to more than two parties.

Yes here in Brighton we'll probably vote the Greens back in after this lot.
January 15, 2026 at 9:41 PM
Well I'm British but wanted to give an extreme example of what can be voted in if you hesitate to vote.
January 15, 2026 at 9:38 PM
Rodney!...not rodent.
January 15, 2026 at 9:36 PM
As Rodent pointed out it is a poor comparison as they do have only two choices over there with no credible challengers and here it's possible anyone could win it this time.

It must not be Reform though.
January 15, 2026 at 9:36 PM
It's only just occurred to me that this is on Zach's thread!

I was commenting on some ex-labour voter hesitating to vote and giving him the USA example as reason to.

I've just realised what all the labour stuff has been about. That was seen as encouraging him to vote labour! I meant just vote!
