Oh, it HAS to be James Clinton Howell's formal analysis of Metal Gear Solid 2. Early enough into games criticism that it's actively establishing terms like "Player" and "Actor" upfront, but it never comes across as pretentious. Easily readable, and a fantastic way into postmodernism as a teenager!

Hey, so a few years ago, I made a platforming short called REFLECT! Apparently, Unity detected a security breach in their older editors, and I was contacted to re-export my games with a patch. This patched version is the one you'll find going forwards.

Depictions of sex and violence are not inherently harmful, and if we ever find ourselves engaging in a genuine debate regarding their legality, then the Bible is first on the heap. That, and every other prescriptivist religious text.

(Just in case my views on the matter were ambiguous.)

I grew up in an era where sex and worse materials were alarmingly accessible. The internet is in dire need of moderation and self-moderating tools, but outsourcing control to bodies that are already using info to extort people is evil. It's an act of self-harm that will cripple future generations.

The latest efforts to scrape data for American tech companies, sorry, I mean "protect kids from already age-gated video games, history articles and suicide prevention resources", are very, very not good. It's reassuring that everyone outside the government understands this.

I really, really hope so! I've not been posting as much since the move to Bluesky (partly because every waking moment OUTSIDE social media is centred around this slow-motion car crash), but I'm as confused and horrified as everyone else. You guys don't deserve this!

Wow, I sure picked the right month to open for pre-orders without invoicing anyone! UK Mailing services to America have been suspended following (and I can't apologise enough for saying this) some top-tier administrative feckery. Currently investigating options. My heart goes out to you folks!
