Her nails dance along my body like a figure skater. I tense as she reaches my spine, she digs in gently as if grabbing at the flesh that holds me. In sharp strikes she marks me. I am baptised in the pain she inflicts upon me. My skin flushes red, and I am reminded. That I am a mutt.

A tiresome dog lays upon your lap, Their fur is soft, their body warm. You breathe in sync with them. The chaos of world leaves your mind as the only thing you could feel is the embrace of this hound. You realise that this is home. This is where you want to be, this is where you wished to be. Calm.
