What I don’t understand is that he seems to be fighting this fight basically alone with the Minneapolis mayor. No governors from other states and no mayors from other Metropoles standing up and showing real support and solidarity (except written words in Social Media). Or am I missing it?

Überrascht es wirklich irgendjemanden, dass Konservative mit Rechtsdrall die Lösung von aktuellen Problemen in der Rückkehr zur „guten alten Zeit“ sehen, wo es so woken Quatsch wie Teilzeit für alle nicht gab? Das ist doch einfach ihr Unique Selling Point. Und leider von vielen genau so gewollt.

I feel you and I really feel the same. Still it‘s a pity not hearing your voice, first hand witnessing about what is going on in Serbia here any more. Wish my Serbian brothers and sisters the strength and wisdom to carry on and finally get rid of the dictator and his regime in Belgrade.

I didn’t expect him to be so clear in his statement (and so much clearer than Obama) considering we all thought he‘s in the Epstein files and basically being protected (and thus blackmailed) by Trump. That’s quite brave.

Finde es auch falsch, diese Meute als „Beamte“ zu bezeichnen. Das erweckt den Anschein von Menschen mit Ausbildung, Prüfung und sauberem polizeilichen Führungszeugnis. Genau das ist ja aber nicht der Fall.

Die Beharrlichkeit ist beeindruckend. So schade dass von der EU kaum Unterstützung kommt.
Ich wünschte die Amerikaner würden sich davon inspirieren lassen. Die Welt wäre eine andere.

They should be leading the resistance, given that they don’t have to worry about being fired, lose their healtcare or not being able to support their families. But only very few of them speak out against the administration and what they are douing in the US and to the world. It’s not enough.

The deafening silence of most American superstars, be it musicians, actors or other icons is another huge disappointment. This does not go unnoticed. Nobody will want to watch a movie with an American hero saving the world any more. That narrative will seem ridiculous going forward.

He had his people with him sitting in the front row and laughing (maybe also operating a laugh track). The clapping was clearly low level but why everybody got up and left the impression of standing ovations is beyond me.

Honestly, I think his speech at the UN a few months back was worse, but maybe it has adjusted my expectations so this one didn’t shock me that much.

Ich möchte die Gründe ja nicht ausblenden, diese müssen untersucht, erforscht und diskutiert werden. COVID ist wahrscheinlich nicht der einzige Grund. Aber bis es dazu einen gesellschaftlichen Konsens gibt, müssen Erzieher/innen und Lehrer/innen ja trotzdem durch Maßnahmen entlastet werden.

ist auch ein interessanter Ansatz. Letztendlich sind die Gründe egal, denn man muss sich auf die Kinder so einstellen, wie sie nun mal sind. Leider scheint das in der päd. Ausbildung kaum berücksichtigt zu werden. Die Überforderung der Lehrer mit diesen Bedingungen scheint mir sehr hoch.

Interessant fand ich das klare Ansprechen der veränderten Aufnahme- und Konzentrationsfähigkeit der Kinder, etwas das ich auch wahrnehme. Ich habe es bisher vor allem auf hohen Medienkonsum zurückgeführt (nicht nur der Kinder sondern auch der Eltern genauso wie uns allen), aber der Aspekt mit COVID
