Ooh yeah that’s always hard! I tried this with a couple different options for the dark yarn at first. If I make another I’ll probably go with something a little less contrasty for the variegated part

That'd be so cool! I'm a fan of StichFiddle.com for creating charts, and they have a pretty standardized way of annotating instructions -- if my app has legs I've thought about trying to automatically read stitchfiddle patterns to show row-by-row instructions. Definitely a bigger project though!
