Going to physical archives helps us realize
-the illusion that 'everything' is online
-how much of historical record has already been lost
-the inadequacy of the written
-the selectivity of digitization projects

I found a few volunteer positions where I transcribe cursive documents almost two centuries old, and it's so fun.

They get more accessible copies, and I get endless cryptogram puzzles--without ads! Win win!
