Pleased to take part in and contribute to a timely discussion on pressing security issues that confront us at the European-American Security Dialogue held in Foçsani Gate Region in Romania, bringing together subject matter experts from both sides of the Atlantic.

Any ceasefire in the war in Ukraine should aim to lead to a peace deal grounded in the fundamental principles that underpin European security. If, instead, such a deal merely reflects realpolitik considerations, it is doomed to fail and will likely result in renewed aggression.
