I guess my thought process was more of "they contribute to the U.S significantly (albeit, involuntary) but dont even receive the full 'benefits' of being a state." Like, the way FEMA handled Hurricane Maria was AWFUL. Had it been a state, puerto ricans woulf have received more resources faster.

I agree with you, wholeheartedly and I understand that you dont want the citizenship that has been thrust upon you. I said it to highlight the the insanity of introducing a bill which would give statehood to a country that has even less ties to the U.S. than a "U.S. territory."

Agreed! But the U.S. acknowledges Puerto Rico as a "U.S. territory." All i meant is that I find it strange that the govt wants to make Greenland a state without any justification. Meanwhile, puerto ricans already have U.S. citizenship, pay federal taxes, and have folks serving in our military.

Yeah, here's the thing about that: people are HORRIBLE at guessing young women's ages. (I was often mistaken for being in my 20s at just 14.)
