I got a photo of the inside of one of my cat shelters. Yes, I invaded their privacy but the insult was worth it.

There are three cats in here but only two can be seen.

I actually worked ends into a project! Last winter a wee child called my hubby "Santa" and melted his heart. I figured he needed a Santa-adjacent hat. One pompom failure later I have crocheted a completed hat for him ❤️ 🧶 🎅

The tree down the block decided to drop all it's leaves TODAY. I guess it saw the leaf vacuum truck drive past this morning and thought best to shed it's summer wear.

We made three new insulated cat houses for this winter. These two are large enough for multiple cats. Yesterday I saw three emerge from one box and squeed! The McWaffles Family are staying fed, warm and protected under our watch.
Two styrofoam boxes with small squares cut so cats can enter and exit. These boxes are lined with straw for feral kitty comfort.

The stunning broccoli romanesco I picked up is now snuggled tightly in jars with red bell peppers and onions, bathing in pickling brine. The romanesco was not tightly closed so it should make amazing pickles.

Two weeks, my pretties. I will enjoy my pickles Christmas trees before thanksgiving!
The fractal patterns of a broccoli romanesco remind one of a Christmas tree. This head is resting on ice to keep it fresh. Three freshly capped jars of romanesco, bell peppers and onion soak in spice filled pickling brine. It's like tiny pickled Christmas trees. Two of the McWaffles family - Gravy on top and Biscuit on the bottom - poke their heads out of an insulated box. They do appreciate this box and I am so stoked they use it. I line these feral cat boxes with straw. This box might need the door cut a little larger, but hopefully not much.
