Should let you in on this:
I planned on studying medicine. Covid paused that, I took a M.S. in sport analytics instead and had really cool opportunities I'm very grateful for.
I do Arabic analysis content (1k subs on YT 👶) but will share more in English as I used to and hope you follow along ⚽️

The consequences of media failure. From a relative in the US (and no, she’s not one of Trump’s “coastal elites”):

“Feels like I’m watching everything bad happen and we’re all just going about things like nothing is wrong…It’s absurd to watch history try and start repeating itself.”
One of the reasons why so many established media houses are not accurate in reporting how bad things are: because the facts sound deranged. Doesn’t make them less true. But try pitching a piece „one of Musk‘s guys is linked to a literal pedophile Nazi cyber crime ring“ and see how that goes.

Bradley Carnell has arrived as Jim Curtin's replacement at Philadelphia Union. What do we know about Carnell, his style of play, and the current state of the Union roster?
A full breakdown of Carnell and the current state of the Union:

It should be an actual rule to have a one-paced run-up that always starts from behind the penalty area. Stuttering = indirect FK to the defending team.

I'd also add that the player that wins the penalty has to take it. If it's a hand ball then the taker is the last to touch it before the foul.
Bring back proper penalties. None of these staged run-ups, this stutter nonsense, waiting till the ‘keeper commits himself to roll the ball into a gaping net.

Give us a nod to the ref, a long run up and Julian Dicks that ball as hard as you possibly can.

Spoke on Khusanov in the summer as one to watch at the Olympics! (That was the last video on Just Another Football Podcast before shifting to Arabic content)
Strong tackler, covers lots of space very quickly. Exactly what City need.

Imagine we wake up tomorrow to Trent, Virgil, and Salah signing pre-agreements with Real Madrid.

Ratcliff's part-ownership of Man United is a solid 0/10 so far.
So this is what Ratcliffe means by "marginal gains".

You are looking at an Egyptian being the greatest player to ever grace English football competition.
Mohamed Salah has 26 goal involvements in the Premier League this season (15 goals, 11 assists).

He has scored and assisted in seven different Premier League games for Liverpool this season.

It's the sixth season in which he has scored 10+ goals and provided 10+ assists.

Premier League royalty.

i recall a time when using a private email server was the single greatest scandal in american history. i guess today’s it’s just tuesday www.politico.com/news/2024/12...
Trump's transition is happening over private emails. Federal officials are nervous.
Agencies are weighing in-person requirement for sensitive data.

Pretty amazing that after their botched broadcast Tyson v Paul they're still getting rights to other sports left right and center.
Netflix has secured the exclusive broadcast rights in the United States for the 2027 and 2031 editions of the Women’s World Cup.

- Get VVD on the right side of defense and sub Szoboszlai for Endo
- Outswinging corners are a bad idea most of the time
- Weird weird weird game, probably not much chance of coming back here, I'd take a point

I saw someone say maybe they should get an open play coach 🫣
Arsenal have created an open play expected goal in one of their last eight Premier League matches. Across the season as a whole it's three of 15.

They rank 13th in the Premier League for open play xG.

Mohamed Salah has now played exactly as many games for Liverpool as Thierry Henry did across his legendary eight-year stint at Arsenal.

And the numbers are remarkably similar. Up there with the all-time greats 🇪🇬👑

FSG not offering contracts to Salah, Trent, and Van Dijk yet on December 5 is one of the massive permanent stains on their time at Liverpool. It's nothing less than negligent.

There's nothing positive that can conceivibly come from not giving Salah a new deal. Too old? Will earn too much? Neither of these things can be true because he's been Europe's best player this season. The negativity is so unnecessary at the start of this run of games, on top of TAA and Virgil, too.
