As someone who unfortunately works for a boss who is an ai tech bro, from what I've observed, it's about perpetuating the illusion of being "creative and smart" and taking advantage of people's ignorance to how ai works. Those people compliment them and what was generated thus feeding their egos.

If not informing humane society which would make him mad but the cat would have a chance for care, getting an uber delivery of cheap food/litter could incentivize him to take better care.

It sounds concerning. My grandmother can be that way if she's left on her own for too long be it due to depression, pain, or memory issues. Maybe there would be a way for a neighbor to stop by every once in a while or perhaps a petsitter to stop by once a day if it can be afforded?

I honestly suggest baths with original dawn mixed with a little salt to kill the adults and dry the eggs then dab some lemon juice around their necks for the short term until you get topicals. If you have carpet, salt it, let it sit for about an hour, vacuum, then dump it and tie up the bag.

Be careful using these kind of shampoos. Pet stores don't know shit and a lot of cat flea shampoos (including yours) have Pyrethrins, a cat toxin derived from chrysanthemums and if they ingest it too much if not being fully dry (cleaning themself) it can cause seizures. I've learned the hard way.
