It's a First Tactical soft shell.

A lot of people are burning down stages with their concealed carry rig, even. Don’t be shy, I really wish I had gone to a match sooner!
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
but I’m so glad to have finally taken the plunge and can’t wait to put this to further use at more matches. That said, you don’t need something like this just to attend a USPSA match - just a holster and something to shove magazines into (this could even be your pocket).

True North Concepts hangers.

Lastly, the Guerrilla Tactical “The Rig” kydex holster - passive retention, simple, works great as always.

Anyway, I’m really impressed by this setup. Getting into more competition-specific setups felt like learning an entirely new language in terms of hardware,

For as racist and off-putting to women as Benjamin is, I can at least trust the BOSS hanger to not disappoint. It offers adjustability in ride height, cant, and spacing away from the belt. Some other similar products that I haven’t tried that may be worth looking into would be the Henning and

control the rotation and tilt of each pouch to suit your draw just right. Further, with multiple mounting points along the body, three different heights for the internal floor, and an adjustable tensioner, I can’t even imagine what else you could possibly want in terms of customizability.

in roll pins to attach each link, I can certainly appreciate just how customizable this setup is, tailoring just the right amount of belt for your body.

The DAA XiP pouches also delivered a lot of customizability, with them mounting to the links on the belt with a ball joint, allowing you to

(pun intended). I have it set up with the buckle in front for ease of donning/doffing with my recent back injury, but will soon be moving that around to the back so that the pouches and holster remain equidistant all the time, every time. Aside from the really annoying process of having to hammer

(buy used if you can, dude’s a scumbag), and a Guerilla Tactical The Rig kydex holster.

Now, my take: the Lynx belt has got to be one of the most rigid belts ever conceived, and it’s no wonder that this is so popular in the competition scene - consistency is key, and this belt is no slouch

After running a USPSA match with this rig, I have some initial thoughts. But first, let me outline what it even is the setup here. The belt is a Double Alpha Academy Lynx belt with the ratchet buckle, DAA ratchet inner belt, DAA XiP magazine pouches, Ben Stoeger Pro Shop BOSS hanger

Anyway, this was a really good reminder to balance out that dry fire with live fire cycles as best as one can.
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
which I haven't had the luxury of for the last couple of months.

I did want to run this match occluded and plan to on future ones, but I was also using this match as an opportunity to review my PB-3 optic as well, so I had to keep that glass clear.
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
There doesn't feel like there's a realistic way to call on target focus on demand on the clock. The issue is that dry fire can't simulate the reticle bouncing like a Yorkshire terrier in front of your face. It will grab your focus, and this can only be ironed out fully is with live fire training,
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
I dry fire with optic occlusion almost exclusively, yet I could feel my eye intently focused on that dot all day, no matter how consciously I tried to fight it. Mental bandwidth is nearly entirely occupied with the stage plan and lining up the sights.
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
The more I shoot, the more I appreciate just how much of this discipline is a mental exercise. Stage planning, reloads, and footwork aside here, one struggle really stood out to me during the whole match - target focus.
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
I feel like most truly suppressor height sights should work with this, but adapter plate thickness may be a factor.
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
Correction for clarity: The window size is 33% larger than an Aimpoint ACRO, and a hair over the Holosun 509T.

I really love this thing and can’t wait to get many, many more hours on it!

32 MOA ring, which eats up much more energy, will at least go into sleep mode to help save battery life in storage.

On top of all that, there’s the same well-thought out and robust body design to prevent accidental button presses, lens protection, and easy holstering.

but only for the 32 MOA ring. The reasoning here is that shake-awake gives some people pause since this is something that can potentially fail in rare circumstances, and then you’re left with a useless hunk of glass. This compromise ensures that you’ll always have the 3 MOA dot available, but the

that can be combined with it, or set as standalone, giving you three reticles to work with in total. For me, I don’t prefer anything other than the simple dot, but it’s nice to have options. Another interesting feature - the Pandora uses what’s called AuraWake technology. It’s basically shake-awake,
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
size is unparalleled. Much bigger than an Aimpoint ACRO, even 33% larger than the Holosun 509T, and it sits nice and low in the housing. If you like big glass on an enclosed micro dot, nothing remotely compares.

In this version, you still have a basic 3 MOA dot, but now in addition, a 32 MOA ring
tacticoolgf.bsky.social
vision is also very impressive and budges up against the top end performance of other leading optics in this class for that application under my PVS-14. Parallax and edge to edge distortion is minimal, if not downright undetectable. As with both versions, it just needs to be said again - the window
