Old Overholt is delicious and anyone who says otherwise can go to hell.

They calculated it back to 1970 when they established it so there would be some 'history' for investors to evaluate.

I wonder what this is actually based on, since DAX data only goes back to 1970.

About nine hours away!

Yeah, if he wants that to happen or not is the question right now. Is he hoping that will happen so that he can respond with insurrectionist act-esque behaviour? Or is he just this stupid? I honestly don't know.

I wouldn't trust a .357, personally...

Harold James's 'Making the European Monetary Union' comes to mind.

'Even Lord Byrons said it' ? Byron hated the Ottomans and loved the idea of ancient Greece. Of course he said it was wrong.

He was also both an idiot and an overrated poet. Anything else?

Very much have to disagree that it is consensus amongst historians that there was a clear good and bad side in WWI...

Highly recommend it, even if it can't live up to their real-world selves.

This think tank is hilarious, though.

About: What we do:

'The goal of the institute is to provide a framework for the holistic understanding and study of weaponized unreality as an emerging paradigm. In this we are inventing a pedagogy as well as a library of terms, concepts and systematics. '

Friends of his had their hedge funds bailed out by Bessent/Trump's bailout of Argentina.

Sure, but American oil execs know that this is a 10-20+ year project and what happens if the next president cancels every contract Trump signed? Look at how Orsted has faired lately. Not something any person in business wants!

No one wants to tell him it's not worth the capex to take it out of the ground.

The US is a lot closer to Canadian tar sands than it is to Venezuelan oil fields.

Thanks why you do this on a Friday night - the stock market is closed for the weekend

No one wanted to be south of the river once the sun went down!

As a European historian, not remotely an expert on this, could you expand a bit on this or share a good link? I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to here.

My one pushback on this, and I'm sorry to bring it up, is that masks do upset many (most?) of my autistic friends and family members. It does cause extreme anxiety for some neurodivergent people to see other people masked. (Not saying that means no one should wear a mask or maskers are evil, etc!!)

Interesting, I had a classic drunken uncle telling me at Christmas a few days ago about how silver was about to spike because of a short squeeze on major Wall Street banks which might lead to a banking crisis. It is both disturbing and worrying how this type of nonsense leaks out.

No, the content of the letter was not released until now.
December 23, 2025 at 9:20 AM
Yep, I agree with all of that. No idea if it was actually mailed from there or not - or if he was the one who mailed it or not!
December 23, 2025 at 8:51 AM
Fair enough, thanks! I have no knowledge about the federal prison system mail system, so I'm in the same boat as you. A lot of questions about this!
December 23, 2025 at 8:50 AM
Long story short, all of Bluesky is arguing about whether it's real or not. There are questions about the handwriting and the dates and just how patently obvious it is. Nothing conclusive either way. Might be real! Might be fake!
