we really need to have a reckoning with the people who equate seeing a homeless person or even public drug use as a *danger* to them versus a discomfort.

frankly, there is a direct through-line between this kind of thinking and that of segregationists.

I have spent a lot of time in 🇺🇸, and what I wish Canadians understood more is that most of America doesn’t really view Canada like a real country. They’re told that. It’s kind of like how they don’t really view black people as real, whole, people.

I find the addictions where I have to moderate because I can't completely cut them out of my life (example: food addiction, internet addiction) way more difficult. With drugs and alcohol is way more simple- I just have to avoid them altogether. I have to eat and use the internet sometimes. Harder.

I didn't realize for quite awhile that ADHD makes it easier for a person to struggle with addiction. Makes so much sense for me, at least. I've had a bunch of addictions in my life, I get addicted pretty easily. Social media is the one I'm currently working on.
