Justifying your own error in trusting Carney (which we all made) by justifying a pipeline is insane. You sound insane.

Albertans & Liberals have no idea how this looks to the rest of the country— several people who are STILL displaced from their homes from wildfire. If I never hear about Alberta again it will be too soon.

I don’t have the mental gymnastics to go through your labyrinthine spin justifying a pipeline, come on now.

People who think Carney is a political genius are not people I would be listening to. He just blew up his voting coalition and most certainly will be a single term Prime Minister by isolating British Columbia and Québec, it’s just math.
Something that is easy to forget in all the "Carney is a political genius / Carney is a political naif" argle bargle is that climate policies matter. Environmental regulations matter. Getting rid of them may or may not achieve a political end — but it's guaranteed to have real-world implications.

All stocked up on magic beans and we have had enough wildfires to last a lifetime.

Watch the white media men run to Carney’s defence over the indefensible part 347.
An optimistic take. Not sure I share it, but Max is always a smart voice.
Mark Carney managed to trade a pipeline that will never get built for meaningful progress on industrial carbon pricing and electricity interties — both of which will get more wind and solar built.

Giving Alberta an exemption to the Clean Electricity Standard means the policy is DOA.

There’s no way SK isn’t asking for the same thing, as they restart coal plants.

One Canadian economy? Nope. Likely scenario is no electricity regs at all, meaning we’re back to Harper-era policy.

The MOU explicitly endorses the construction of a massive new bitumen pipeline from Alberta to the B.C. coast.

Toula nails it: "By preventing any hypothetical women forced to wear religious symbols from attaining an education or a job, the government is not only sabotaging their integration but also dooming them to an existence it claims it wants to protect them from: fully reliant on their oppressors."
Despite what the bill’s supporters claim, true secularism doesn’t seek the erasure of religion from the public sphere, but protects religious minorities from any state-imposed religion.

This “don’t worry Carney is playing 4D chess” Liberal cope via Carbon pricing is outstanding spin 👏 really. He just destroyed his voting coalition and there is no evidence at all it will work but tons of evidence it will fail and lead to poor environmental incomes. Time to admit what he is.

We live in a society awash in wealth. Big banks and big oil pull in tens of billions while public needs go unmet.

We need leaders willing to where the money is. A 1% tax on the wealthiest 1% could raise billions for strong, universal public services.

We are experiencing an epidemic of human trafficking in Canada 🇨🇦 and @rechievaldez.bsky.social our Women’s Minister is ignoring it completely. Budget2025 by @mark-carney.bsky.social gutted funds to combat it. The housing crisis is exacerbating it.

Narrator: it did not help them long term
Gotta be honest, the levels of online adulation for Mark Carney are starting to get uncomfortably close to 2015 Trudeau levels, and at the risk of sounding like a wet blanket, uncritically embracing the hype train risks missing flaws in the Liberal platform. That doesn't help us long term.

The House of Commons UNANIMOUSLY passed the oil tanker moratorium in northwest B.C. in 1972 because they knew how sensitive the coast is and how dangerous the waters are. An oil spill there will be catastrophic. Economic development is one thing - being reckless and short-sighted quite another.
