The world needs photo journalism. I hope all this talent finds a way to pool resources and make something new, the way the @lapresse.ca staff once created the online Frontenac during a protracted labour dispute (and saved the organization in the process). Still out there delivering top-notch news.
The Washington Post just laid off its entire award-winning photo team. They were our eyes in places we'll never see. It's a horrifying loss at a time when lying governments, propaganda and AI slop are on the rise.

The Editor's code caveat of "unless justified in tve public interest" seems to be well and properly respected in this case. Let there be accountability.
🚨 This evening, a notice was circulated from representatives of Peter Mandelson, via press regulator IPSO and the Press Association news wire, to all media across the UK

We believe it is strongly in the public interest to publish this memo. This is it in full 👇

Way to call them out!
A brand new Super PAC — Elect Chicago Women — just dropped hundreds of thousands of dollars into this race. Why?

Because it’s actually a front for AIPAC dark money. And they’re doing everything they can to buy my race:

Why Old-School Journalistic Standards Matter Dept.
While reporting this, I had something happen that's never happened. A comms rep for one of the co's disputed my reporting and said what I was telling them was untrue because it was not in Grok, xAI's chatbot.

I was looking directly at the files. And this person was using AI to challenge the truth.
Epstein had many known connections to Silicon Valley CEOs, but less known was how he made money from those relationships.

We did a deep dive into how he got dealflow in Silicon Valley, giving him shots to invest in Coinbase, Palantir, SpaceX and other companies.

I mean, he bought Xitter because it is a machine for fascism that moderation had been neutralizing.

His ability to create propaganda to lie about himself at scale is part of the reason it IS a machine for fascism.
In the last 48 hours, Musk's reactions to the Epstein release show exactly why he bought Twitter.

He's used the platform to call coverage of his emails with Epstein as "lies," elevated his fans who have defended him, and gotten positive reinforcement from his AI chatbot.

Compounding the Criminality Dept.
New from 404 Media: the DOJ released completely unredacted nude images of women or girls in the latest Epstein dump. The photos were incredibly explicit. We held off reporting this before DOJ finally took them down. A massive error from DOJ.

Shorter Raitt: "How dare they judge us based on our behaviour!?"
Last week Lisa Raitt said she's "sick of people labelling conservatives maple MAGA". The CPC Convention had Rebel News (selling pro-MAGA swag online), known separatists, Freedom Convoy folk and Fox News lovin cranks. Don't complain because people notice reality. The CPC is a CESSPOOL. #cdnpoli
